A Stellarium Improvement Proposal (SIP) is a technical document that proposes an improvement to the Stellarium and RequestScript platforms. SIPs live in the SIPs repository, alongside the whitepaper.1

Talk it through on Discord first to get early feedback.

Write the SIP
Name the file starting with
SIP followed by the next number after the last proposal.3
Open a pull request
Submit it to the SIPs repository for review.
Guidelines
- Keep it clear and human-readable. AI can help you write a SIP, but reformat “AI-isms” such as em dashes.
- When commenting on someone else’s SIP, keep a constructive tone. Everyone is here to improve the system.
